2nd Floor Restoration

The second floor restoration began in the fall 2012 with the support of several capital grants, including Community Capital Fund, which is administered by Ontario Trillium Foundation, Enabling Accessibility Fund, a program of HRSDC, City of London, and private donors.

Most of the floor will be open, so the work so far has been on framing the side-wall, making new windows, and running electrical and plumbing. The second floor will be our class area, allowing two classes to go on at once. There will also be a meeting and lounge space, as well as washrooms and an administrative office.

A highlight is the barrel ceiling with a window to let in lots of light. Additional windows toward the back have also been added.

Our 10+ year project is nearly complete

Our journey which began many years ago is almost complete, as we near the completion of restoration of the 2nd floor. The walls and ceiling are finished, the restrooms are in, and the floors have been refinished. There are only details to complete. The result is breath taking. The space offers so much potential.

We will be moving our classes to the second floor, and with the added space, we will now be able to hold two classes at once, something we were unable to do on the first floor. This will allow us to double our class offerings.
