Come make something with us! There's a Clayworx workshop for everyone - those looking for a fun day/evening out, those looking to find out if pottery is for them, or potters looking to try a new technique or develop their skills. We offer one-day workshops (most 1.5 - 3 hrs) and occassional multi-day workshops for a variety of skill levels, ages, and techniques. Registration fee includes use of all needed tools, clay, glazes, and firings. Your finished piece(s) is available for pick-up approximately 3 weeks later. Please note: Some registration fees are per person and some are for 2 people - check listings carefully. Registration section near the bottom of this webpage under workshop descriptions.
Wheel Throwing (Adults, 16+): Shaping clay on the pottery wheel. For "Date Night" workshops a single registration is for 2 people. Children/Teens ages 10-15 may attend if accompanied by a participating adult.
Date Night - select Saturdays each month (see listings below) Get your hands dirty while engaging in some good clean fun! Bring a date, a friend, your mom, brother...you get the idea! The night will begin with an engaging tutorial after which the instructor will guide you through the throwing of your own works on the potter's wheel. Each person gets to select one of their pots to keep, which will later be trimmed, glazed (your choice of 5 glaze colours) and fired. Materials included. All skill levels - great for beginners!
Hand Building (Adults, 16+): Shaping clay without a pottery wheel (coils, pinch pots, slabs). For these hand building (adults, 16+) workshops, registration is per participant. For hand building workshops more geared to children, families, and friends creating collaboratively, see our Friends & Families workshops. Mug Merrymaking - More coming soon! Handbuild your own drinking vessel! Greet the morning with your hands wrapped around your own handbuilt mug of hot coffee or tea! Or end the day with a delicious hot chocolate before bed! Works great for cold drinks too! Personalize your hand built masterpiece with a variety of textures and colours to make it truly your own! Once glazed and fired your mugs are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe! Materials included. Great for beginners! Note: Registration is per person. Friends & Family Workshops (Hand Build & Bond!): Shaping clay without a pottery wheel (coils, pinch pots, slabs). These workshops are geared towards having fun working together on individual projects. Perfect for a parent & child, siblings, two besties, or any other pair you can think of! Suitable for ages 6+, but those under 8 will certainly need assistance from their accompanying adult. Ages under 16 require accompaniment by participating adult.
FOR CREATING TOGETHER - A single registration is for 2 - one adult and one child, or two adults.One additional child or one additional adult can be purchased as an add-on - perfect for families!

Nature Themed Workshop at Wild Birds Unlimited!: Toad Abodes - April 30 Welcome the season by making Toad Abodes for our backyard, vocal harbingers of Spring! Hand build your toad abodes starting with rolled out slabs of clay formed over a provided mold. Personalize and decorate them using a variety of available textures and colours to create a unique piece of art for your garden! Once complete, each toad abode will be glazed and fired by us and be ready to be picked up approximately three weeks after the workshop. Great for all ages 6+, although children under the age of 8 will certainly need assistance from their adult. PLEASE NOTE: PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARTICIPATING ADULT.

Medway Valley Garden Mushroom - 2-Day - May 2 & 3 Join us for this 2-day workshop to make your own decorative ceramic mushroom for your garden (looks just as great indoors too)! These mushrooms will be inspired by those found in the Medway Valley. Mushrooms will be designed and the pieces built on the first day and assembled, decorated, and finished on the next day. Your one of a kind creation will be 10-14 inches in height and you may choose to decorate it in a realistic way like those found in the Medway Valley or go more multi-coloured and vibrant! Materials included. Great for all skill levels including beginners! Note: Registration is per person. There is a 10% discount for signing up 3 or more participants in a single transaction.
